YOUR INFORMATION. YOUR CHOICE.

Why do we ask for your study details?

Peermigo uses a few study details to suggest relevant peers and help students choose how they want to collaborate.

THE ESSENTIALS

How each detail helps

The essentials support matching without displaying your sign-in email.

First name and surname

Your name helps peers recognise who they are connecting with. You can edit your given names and surname separately in Edit Profile.

Institution and type

Your university, TVET college or school helps identify your learning community. Supported abbreviations are standardised where possible.

Course or school grade

Your programme or grade helps find students at a similar study level. It is required and can be updated, but not left blank.

Subjects or modules (required)

At least one subject or module is required for relevant recommendations. You can update the list, but you cannot remove every subject.

Preferred study format and campus

Choose Online, On campus or Hybrid. University and college students choosing On campus must provide a campus; Online and Hybrid students can leave campus optional.

Email and password

Your email is used for sign-in, verification, security notices and recovery. It is not shown on student profiles; Supabase handles authentication.

YOUR PROFILE, YOUR CONTROL

You can update your study details.

You can change your name, course, campus, subject list and preferred format in Edit Profile. Matching essentials must remain filled in. Availability, biography and a profile photo are optional.

Who can see these details?

If your profile is discoverable, signed-in Peermigo students may see your name, institution, study details and public content. Notes set to On my profile may appear in Discover Notes even when you hide your profile from Find Peers. Hidden authors are shown without a public profile link; Only me notes remain private. Control your visibility and last seen in Settings → Privacy & Safety. Matching scores estimate study compatibility, not identity or safety.

Optional information such as availability and a profile picture can improve the experience but is not required for registration.

Important: Entering a school or university name does not verify enrolment. Peermigo's verified badge is separate. Peermigo currently accepts students aged 18 and older only, including those who select School.
